Why WeTerra Is Called WeTerra 🤔
Have you ever noticed how much of the world seems to be about “I” these days?
iPhone. iPad. iMac. I, I, I. Everything seems to be about "me" — my life, my success, my money, my image, my convenience. And there is nothing wrong with being an individual. We all have our own dreams, opinions and goals. But sometimes we feel that we've become a little too focused on ourselves and forgotten a very important word: WE.
It sounds simple, because it is. We means together, and Terra means Earth. We and the Earth. Together. And for us, that means much more than just a name.
We share this planet with other people, with animals, with forests, oceans, rivers and millions of other living things. But it is surprisingly easy to go through everyday life thinking mainly about ourselves. We buy things, use them, replace them and move on. And somewhere along the way, “I” became more important than “we”. We're not saying that to point fingers. We're certainly not perfect ourselves. We are part of the same world, and we're still learning too. But we think it's worth asking a simple question: What if we thought a little less about what belongs to "me", and a little more about what belongs to all of us?
That question is a big part of why WeTerra exists.
We don't want to simply sell clothes and call it a day. Yes, we love creating designs that people enjoy wearing. But there is a bigger idea behind it. Our long-term dream is to create a safe place for animals — a sanctuary where they can live without being treated as products, possessions or resources.
We want WeTerra to connect people with animals, nature and compassion. And that is why the name means so much to us. Maybe the world doesn't need quite so much “I”.... Maybe it needs a little more “we”.
Not because being an individual is bad. It isn't. But being yourself and caring about other people, animals and the planet can go hand in hand. We can ask, “What can I do?” and then take the next step: “What can we do together? That's what WeTerra means to us.
Because this isn't just our planet.
It's WeTerra. And we're all part of it.
